“It’s easier to walk, especially if you don’t have a parking space, it’s just stressful driving and having to find a space”

Tamzin walks to work and is part of a staff team who all use active travel. Some of them walk and some of them cycle. Tamzin has a car but prefers to walk to work because it freshens her headspace and prepares her for the day. At the end of a busy day at work, her walk home also serves as a way to cool off.

Physically it wakes me up walking to work, it makes me feel better. It’s 20 mins a day. I just get to walk, I can have a chat on the phone or listen to something, but usually I just tend to walk and listen to what’s around me.

“On a morning I’d come in early and walk over past the allotments and see the sun rise, it’s a really nice moment. Take a breath to take it in.”
