“To take the bus gives me independence as I have a free bus pass because I am registered blind.”
Watson enjoys mixing walking with bus travel and especially loves walking when the weather is more sunny. It gives him a chance to get fresh air and exercise. For Watson, getting the bus means he doesn’t need to ask anyone to drive him anywhere.
Being visually impared and using the bus means I often ask people for guidance like checking the bus number for me and timings etc, they can be very helpful and you make a good connection with people around you.

When the sun comes out, I’ll walk to my destination if it’s close enough. I get fresh air and feel better – walking is great exercise, you don’t need to go to the gym to get that.
