“I bump into my friends on the way to school and it’s fun to touch and smell the flowers.”

Ever since joining the ‘Active Travel Neighbourhood’ schemes in her local area, Prabhjot has been walking to school with her mum and walking home with her grandad. She explains that it’s fun to bump into her friends and to see the neighbourhood cats on her way to school.

My mum walks me to school and often my grandad picks me up and we can walk and talk about the day, or what I am doing at school that day or learning – it’s nice to talk.

“When I walk I arrive at school happy.”

It’s better for the environment too, instead of taking the car and having the harmful gases going into our lungs and causing pollution.
